Louis Goddard

The Times
Data Journalist
Louis Goddard is a data journalist at The Times of London. He works primarily on investigations, using a computational approach to break exclusive stories. Past stories have included an investigation identifying 50 British users of a dark net child abuse forum, an exposé of the black market trade in stolen email addresses and passwords, and a story naming a government contractor selling hacking equipment on a dark net market.
Before joining The Times in October 2016, Louis completed a PhD in contemporary poetry at the University of Sussex. As part of his doctoral work, he used social network analysis techniques to analyse relationships between avant-garde poets in the 1950s and '60s, combining traditional literary history with a computational approach.
Louis works primarily in the statistical package R, but also uses Python.
